What is Ice, in one sentence?
A desktop companion with a face that you talk to, which then does the work in your browser, your files and your tools — asking before anything you haven’t allowed.
What does the $5 get me, and for how long?
Ice itself, for life. The first 100 people are founding members: you get the full desktop app now, every future version of it, for as long as we make Ice, with no further charge, running on your own AI. Builds go out in reservation order, with a direct line to the people making it; when the places are taken, the waitlist is free. It is paid once, not a subscription: nothing renews. Features that need our servers (multi-device relay, encrypted backup, Ice Cloud models) are separate, optional plans. And if we ever stop making Ice, you get a final build that keeps working on your own AI.
Do I need a subscription?
Not to us. Ice runs on the AI you already have: a Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or GitHub Copilot subscription, your own API key, or a free local model through Ollama. Ice Plus and Pro are optional add-ons for linking devices anywhere and backing up; Ice works fully without them.
Can I use my Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Copilot subscription?
Yes. Ice works through Claude Code for Claude, Codex for ChatGPT, and Cursor and GitHub Copilot through their own agents, so the plan you already pay for does the thinking. Claude’s sign-in happens inside Claude Code itself: Ice never sees or stores your login. Or use a key from OpenRouter, OpenAI or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, or Ollama on your own machine.
What do Plus and Pro add?
Convenience and peace of mind. Your devices linked anywhere through Ice Relay (5 on Plus, 10 on Pro), with push that wakes your phone and messages kept while a device is off; an encrypted backup, sealed on your device so we can’t read it; and monthly Ice Cloud credits for our hosted models, so you never need an API key. During the beta they are open to founding members. Without a plan you keep every feature of Ice, your own keys, and sync on your own network.
Can I get my money back?
Yes, all of it (price, fee and GST), any time until public launch. Sign in and choose “Request a refund” on your dashboard: there’s a two-minute survey you can skip, then a quick chat with the team, and we refund the original payment method. Banks usually show it within 7 working days of approval. Can’t sign in? Email [email protected] from the address you reserved with.
How do I pay? Is it safe?
Through Razorpay. From India you pay in rupees with UPI, cards, netbanking or wallets; from elsewhere, by card in US dollars. Card and bank details go to Razorpay and your bank — they never touch our servers. You get a receipt from Razorpay by email.
I reserved twice by mistake.
The site won’t charge an email that already has a reservation. If a second payment did go through from a different email, write to us and we refund it the same week.
When will I get access?
We let people in in batches, in reservation order, and email each batch when its build is ready. We don’t publish dates we can’t keep.
Which computers does it run on?
Both macOS and Windows. The macOS beta goes out first and Windows follows; tell us which you use when you reserve, because that order is set by what people actually run.
Does Ice see everything on my screen?
Only what you grant, and each system permission explains what it unlocks before you turn it on. What Ice learns about your habits is kept in a local file on your own computer, capped in size, and you can pause or delete it.
Can it do something I didn’t want?
Actions that write, send or spend wait for your approval unless you have told Ice that kind of action is fine. You can pause or revoke any of those decisions in one place.
