01 The face
Expressions are the status bar.
- Eyes that mean something
- Listening, thinking, reading a page, waiting on your yes — each looks different, so a glance tells you what it’s doing without opening anything.
- Tone, not randomness
- It reads the room. A serious task gets a focused face; a small win gets a nod. Nothing it does is a dice roll.
- Stays out of the way
- Always on top, drag it anywhere, it docks to the edge you drop it near. Put it to sleep with a click.
02 Talking
Say it the way you’d say it.
- Voice or keyboard
- Talk when it’s easier, type when you’re in a meeting. One shortcut summons it and opens the mic.
- Small talk stays small
- A quick question gets a quick answer, spoken. Anything with steps becomes a task.
- It tells you when it’s done
- The full answer lands in the console. You hear two sentences saying so — not a monologue.
03 Doing the work
A queue that doesn’t forget.
- Tasks that survive restarts
- Close the lid mid-task. The queue is still there when you’re back, with what was blocked shown first.
- Pause, resume, stop
- Every running task can be held or cancelled. “Partly done” is a real outcome, and it says which part.
- Schedules and watches
- “Every weekday at 8.” “When this page changes.” Set it once in plain words.
- “How’s it going?”
- Ask at any time, by voice or text. It checks the queue and tells you what’s running and what it’s waiting on.
04 Tools

- Browse the open Model Context Protocol registry inside Ice. See what a server will run and which keys it needs before it installs.
- Featured to start
- A browser it can drive, your files, a memory graph, web pages, GitHub — ready on day one.
- Local or hosted
- Servers that run on your own machine and servers that live on the web both work. Keys are kept in your system keychain.
05 Memory
Remembers at the right time.
- You approve what it keeps
- When Ice wants to remember something about you, it asks. You can read every fact it holds.
- Recall when it matters
- It searches its memory mid-task, so “book my usual seat” works the second time.
- It notices patterns
- A local journal of how you work, capped in size, turns into offers of help at the moments you tend to want it.
06 Control
Every permission in one place.
- Ask, allow, or never
- Reading is easy; writing, sending and spending wait for you. Grant a kind of action once, pause it for an hour, or refuse it outright.
- System access, explained
- Each system permission says what it unlocks and opens the exact settings pane (macOS now, Windows next). You see how many are granted and why each matters.
- Your models
- OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Mistral, DeepSeek, OpenRouter — or a local model through Ollama, with nothing leaving your machine.
