No roadmap fiction. This is what Ice does today; the two lines marked “Being built” are not in a release yet.

01 The face

Expressions are the status bar.

Hover or tap a line to change its mood.

Eyes that mean something: Listening, thinking, reading a page, waiting on your yes — each looks different, so a glance tells you what it’s doing without opening anything.
Tone, not randomness: It reads the room. A serious task gets a focused face; a small win gets a nod. Nothing it does is a dice roll.
Eyes, notch, or both: On a MacBook, Ice can live in the notch: invisible at rest, it widens with its eyes and one line while it works, and opens with Allow and Deny when it needs you. Without a notch, a slim bar hangs from the top of the screen.
Stays out of the way: Always on top, drag it anywhere, it docks to the edge you drop it near. Put it to sleep with a click.

02 Talking

Voice or keyboard: Talk when it’s easier, type when you’re in a meeting. One shortcut summons it and opens the mic.
Small talk stays small: A quick question gets a quick answer, spoken. Anything with steps becomes a task.
It tells you when it’s done: The full answer lands in the console. You hear two sentences saying so — not a monologue.

03 Doing the work

Tasks that survive restarts: Close the lid mid-task. The queue is still there when you’re back, with what was blocked shown first.
Pause, resume, stop: Every running task can be held or cancelled. “Partly done” is a real outcome, and it says which part.
Schedules and watches: “Every weekday at 8.” “When this page changes.” Set it once in plain words.
Fast mode (beta): Optional, off by default: the model plans a whole browser flow in one go, and Ice finds each step on your own computer instead of asking the model again for every click.
“How’s it going?”: Ask at any time, by voice or text. It checks the queue and tells you what’s running and what it’s waiting on.

04 Tools

One-click installs: Browse the open Model Context Protocol registry inside Ice. See what a server will run and which keys it needs before it installs.
Featured to start: A browser it can drive, your files, a memory graph, web pages, GitHub — ready on day one.
Local or hosted: Servers that run on your own machine and servers that live on the web both work. Their keys go into your system keychain, and the server’s settings keep only a reference.
Plugins: Browse the Codex and Claude plugin catalogues inside Ice. Each plugin’s page says what it adds, skills or a server, before you install it.
Connect with Ice Being built: Google Drive, Gmail, Slack, Notion, GitHub and more, with one sign-in through Ice’s own app, or through an app you register yourself. The access lands on your computer and stays there.

05 Anywhere

Eight chat apps: Telegram, Discord, Slack, iMessage, WhatsApp, Signal, Matrix and email. Send Ice a message and it works on your computer, then answers in the same chat. WhatsApp and Signal go through unofficial bridges, and Ice says so before you connect them.
It knows who you are: Each channel has one owner, and you say “This is me” to become it. A message that arrived while Ice was off doesn’t run late by surprise: the chat gets one note asking you to send it again.
All your computers: Pair a device with a code, and nothing joins until you press Allow on the other one. Memory, conversations, schedules and settings stay in sync; on your own network the devices talk directly, free. Ice Plus links them from anywhere.

06 Memory

You approve what it keeps: When Ice wants to remember something about you, it asks. You can read every fact it holds.
Recall when it matters: It searches its memory mid-task, so “book my usual seat” works the second time.
It notices patterns: A local journal of how you work, capped in size, turns into offers of help at the moments you tend to want it.

07 Control

Ask, allow, or never: Reading is easy; writing, sending and spending wait for you. Grant a kind of action once, pause it for an hour, or refuse it outright.
System access, explained: Each system permission says what it unlocks and opens the exact settings pane (macOS now, Windows next). You see how many are granted and why each matters.
Secrets stay secret: Paste a key into a chat and it goes to your system’s secret store at once, with Undo. From then on it’s a chip showing its last four characters: the model, your conversation files, sync, backups and logs carry the reference, and Ice fills the value in only as a tool runs.
Your models: Your Claude subscription through Claude Code, ChatGPT through Codex, Cursor or GitHub Copilot; your own key for OpenRouter, OpenAI or any compatible endpoint; Ollama with nothing leaving your machine; or Ice Cloud, no key to manage.
Thinking, per model: Pick how hard it thinks, and each call gets the nearest level that model actually takes: models that can’t switch thinking off get their lightest, models that don’t reason get none.
